Holiday Shopping Ideas at PosterHero.com

Posted in What's New with tags , , , , , , , , on November 28, 2011 by posterhero

It’s holiday shopping time and we at Posterhero thought you might need some help finding gifts for the loved ones on your list…and maybe a few of the the not-so-loved ones too. So, we’ve been keeping up with the Jones’ of the poster world all year long and with prints, posters, framed art or value-framing (don’t let the” value” part fool you…it looks great and they’ll never know you got a great deal!), and we’ve got the gifts you need. No need to look further, really, we’ve got you–and your walls–covered this holiday season! So let’s get started…

For the family, you love them, you appreciate them, so why not give them a gift that will remind them of how much you care all year long? We’ve got inspirational mom prints for the more traditional, apple pie baking moms. And if your mom is a little less conventional, maybe you just want to say “Hey, my mom rocks!”.

And we wouldn’t want dad to feel left out, so we’ve got some of that inspirational dad art too. But let’s be real, we also have a great selection of sports art and dad would probably like that better…so find a pic of his favorite QB or a nice set of golf clubs, frame it up- and you’re done!

And guys, we know you probably need some help shopping for you better halves, so we’re going to help with that too. The ladies of Posterhero like their flowers, but not in a vase, and not with lace, give them flowers that show them you have great taste, and you recognize they do to, and hey, these really cool flowers last forever!

Ladies, don’t think we forgot how hard it is to shop for the guys too. They love cars, sports, and beer, and we’ve got ‘em all. So now that you’re done with them, why don’t you do a little shopping for yourself…you might want to start here.

We know you have cool friends and you want to get them some kick-ass gifts too so this is where the fun really starts. If your friends like to rock, we’ve got pics for that; and if they’re a little more urban, these Steez posters should do the trick. If your friends like to party, show them you care, and if your friends like to rally, this #ows poster will show them you’re there (in spirit anyway!).

Now there’s those people that you don’t really want to spend your hard earned money on; but you’ve gotta do it. So, let’s keep it as painless as possible. Starting with the bosses; show them you’re business-minded and appreciate a great leader when you see one with one of these inspirational Steve Jobs quotes. If the boss thinks you are making a reference to him or her being an innovative and inspiring leader too…all the better, right?

And for the secret Santa at the company Christmas party, maybe a pic of some places that we’d all rather be, than at work…from Argentina to Sydney, and everyplace in between, these great places make great daydreaming material for any cubicle.

We hope that’s given you some good ideas to start, but there really is all that and so much more at PosterHero so we hope you’ll do a little browsing of your own when you stop by.

Poster Hero Pumpkin`

PosterHero.com Carved Pumpkin

Not only is PosterHero the coolest poster store online, but we also have the best Jack O’ Lanterns ANYWHERE.    Our employees went all out this year carving pumpkins.    We had a Posterhero pumpkin, Cinderella’s carriage, which included Cinderella and working doors, a Picasso, a Dali and even a Warhol pumpkin!   Roosters, zombies, and traditional Jacks rounded out the competition.   And the winner………..Cinderella’s carriage made by our QC guy Paul (he also dressed up as a bull rider for Halloween, HYSTERICAL)!   Amy from Customer Service came in second with a really cool Posterhero pumpkin.  Beth and Cindy from Customer Service tied for 3rd with their Picasso and Rooster pumpkins.   PosterHero definitely has a bunch of talented employees.

“Sorry, Just Being a…” New Original Posters & An Employee Rant

Sorry Just Being A Dick

Sometimes being brutally honest and (or) satirical in your interactions with people gets you labeled.  We here at PosterHero.com know the feeling all to well.  So we decided “Why not just let everyone know up front what the deal is?”.  So we created our own new line of Sorry Just Being A … posters.  Now anyone who dares to walk into the room will know what they are in for.

Case in point:  One of our “interesting ” employees, Collin, decided to write us a little anecdote about his day that we feel properly reflects the brutal honesty that inspired us to create these posters.

This is what he had to say:

“While driving down I-295 and Route 1 today I had an epiphany; I am the best driver on the east coast. I pondered this notion all day and now, here at the end of it, I have come to the conclusion that this is truth. I have also spent a better part of the day – all while putting together frames and doing other sundry tasks – coming to the conclusion that I am the single greatest person to walk this earth. Why is that?

5 reasons:

1) Women want me, men want to be me. I know this because women talk to me. Obviously if they talk to me they must want me. Hence it must follow that men want to be me. I don’t blame them.

2) I am more interesting than any of those other jerks you know. Why is that? It’s due to my ability to tell the best bits of my life in no more than two hours, and the fact I weave exaggerated stories until they’re better than the one that you just told. Man I’m good.

3) I am clever, smart and wise. A fortune cookie told me that – a fortune cookie I got for free, I might add, from this really mysterious looking old guy when I picked up the General Tso’s chicken I had for dinner the other night. How did he know that, A) I loved cookies, B) I was the man that fortune was meant for?

4) I tell funny jokes. How do I know this? Because I know I deliver them better than the comedians I got them from. People who don’t watch stand up comedy tell me I’m really funny all the time, and I know they appreciate how creative I am.

5) I think that if I could compare myself to any major figure in history, I’d say I was like Hugh Hefner meets Jesus.

Next time you’re on I-295 or Route 1 during morning rush hour and you see a white Mazda protege coming up behind you, get the hell out-of-the-way. That guy’s me and [I just took my asshole pill], meaning I will honk at and flash you with high beams until you get into the other lane and let me tailgate the guy you were just tailgating.”

Wow, great stuff Collin.  Genghis Khan just called and said “…and people called Me a dick!”

Anyway, check out our complete selection here.  Buy one for yourself or for the “eccentric” person in your life.

Add your own tag line to PosterHero.com

Posted in What's New on July 27, 2011 by posterhero

Are you clever and witty? If not, at least do you think you are? If so, now you have an opportunity to show it to the world by coming up with a witty tag line to go on PosterHero.com.

Poster Hero add your own slogan

This is where you click

All you have to do is click the “submit you own slogan” link underneath the PosterHero logo at the top of the site.   From there you will be taken to the PosterHero facebook page discussion board. There is where you will post your slogan idea. If we like it we’ll put your slogan in our rotation of whacky tag lines. While you’re there give us a “like”, checkout our wall posts, leave your own posts or do whatever it is you do on Facebook.

A couple of ground rules for slogan submission:

1)      Let’s keep it PG-13

2)      No hate speech or any other derogatory comments. It’s not funny and we don’t want to get sued or nothing.

3)      Keep it short and sweet. It’s a tag line not The Great Gatsby. Keep it to around 35 characters (yes that does include spaces and punctuation etc.).

Ok, that’s it. Have fun with it and we’re looking forward to see what you peeps can come up with.

Keeping it Real with Collin.

Hey All, it’s been a while since our last blog post. We’ve been up to some cool things around here and it has taken up a lot of time, so this blog post has been written by one of our valuable employees Collin Russert.

Collin Russert

This Blogs Guest Writter, Collin Russert

I’ve noticed that an interesting pattern has been unfolding for me recently:

The words that come out of my mouth are either instantly refuted, or proven correct over a long enough period of time that no one remembers, much less cares, that I was right.

Something from a few weeks ago provides an excellent example of this, in that I said that I could learn the music to a song by a band named Bigwig in ten minutes. “That drummer must be an idiot if that was so hard for him!” I confidently needled.  “Bring me a chair and be amazed!” I proclaimed for all to hear.  Fifteen minutes later I had two charlie-horses, was on the verge of cardiac arrest and was being smothered by a large slice of humble pie.

I’ll have you know, however, that I regret no aspect of this event.

I say what I think and I stand by it right or wrong.  Not because I’m an egotistical tool, but because I unambiguously convey how I honestly feel.  I’ve realized that most people in the world today pull punches for fear of being labeled crazy, or insensitive or something else derogatory like that.  When confronted with my blunt manner of handling myself and my opinions, most of these same people site the age old adage of, “Better to remain silent and thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.”

I call that a cop out.

I say better to let people know where you’re coming from – honestly, truthfully and fearlessly – and be considered a fool, rather than to say nothing and actually be one afterward because your opinions, needs and desires weren’t taken into consideration by everyone.  Even in the event you’re shown to be wrong like I was, there’s a certain amount of respect you get from being a straight shooter so long as you aren’t constantly shooting off at the mouth or otherwise being a pompous ass about the whole thing.

Take it from the guy who can play Bigwig’s “Drunken Knight” damn near perfectly, now.   (My band doesn’t care about it anymore, either).

Thanks for sharing with us Collin! Keep up the good work.

Osama Bin Laden – Dead!

Posted in Poster of the Week with tags , , , , , , , on May 2, 2011 by posterhero

osama bin laden burn in hell

By now I’m sure that you know that Osama bin Laden, leader of Al Qaeda and mastermind of the 9/11 terrorist attacks has been killed. For a full story on how the events unfolded just go to Google and and click news or do a search for Bin Laden and I’m sure you’ll find plenty of recaps and news stories and analysis of what transpired. As for us here, well we’re just happy that the SOB got what was coming to him.  So in honor of the his passing we have made up some commemorative posters  celebrating the demise of the heinous  A-hole.  To see all the posters go to the Osama Bin Laden Killed section of the site.  Now, before anyone gets their panties in a bind let’s all remember that this is all a little tongue-in-cheek and, not for nothing, this guys was responsible for the deaths of thousands of innocent civilians. So ignore your party politics and or political ideology for a moment a have a little laugh at this mother f*ckers expense. Thanks.
